For automated testing it would be great if we could open files from a URL that works from everywhere.
@NicoKiaru Do you maybe have experience with this for your Bio-Format opener?

As far as I've tested, bio formats only works for local files or a shared drive. It works with a few images given by a url (a small png file or jpg), but it's not able to stream from a "big" remote file -
