I use the sub-collection option for this. It's not as hacky as it might seem. I'm tracking all of my LEGO sets. In my case, I have minifigures in a sub-collection. Each set has its minifigs added as related items. The items each show under the set. As far as loaning items: I don't use that feature, but you can loan the entire set. I can also click on any minifig and loan that on its own. Having a single minifigure marked as loaned does NOT prevent the set from being loaned (or vice versa), but it looks like the loan system doesn't support this at all. For example, if I loan item X, I can still loan item X again without returning it first. |

I'm using Koillection to track items which contain several "sub-items". In my case it's software which includes manuals, disks and CDs -- but the same problem exists with DVD box sets (as has been discussed at #987)
While I can create a sub-collection to track all the 'sub-items', this feels a bit hacky. I'd rather the root item appear with the other items in the collection.
Is there a way to achieve this, or could it be added? Given that Collections can have the same attributes as Items, it seems like all that's needed is a flag on the Collection to make it appear with the items, and allow it to be loaned out (i.e. I can loan out either one volume of a box set, or the whole thing)?
Otherwise a single-level hierarchy for items would also work.
