Description

4.8.28 is the latest Wowza; we should upgrade to keep current rather than pinning to an older Wowza version. We saw some performance issues this past week with the m3u8 coming out of Wowza; Chris suggested that we might want to come back to doing this work for the 8.0 release.

We haven't worked with Wowza in a while; may need some investigation, spinning up environments, etc. since we're coming back fairly fresh.

Done Looks Like

  • Get temporary developer license for Wowza testing
  • Spin up local Wowza to code and testing against dev
  • Talk with ELS about test instance for latest Wowza (can we request a staging instance for this?)
  • Test to make sure everything is functional with streaming and auth in dev once the environment is set up

MCO Staging or IJCCR could be instances to target for production-like environment testing.

8.0 inclusion depends on how much time we have available, especially considering remaining Fedora 6 transition work.
