Dependencies cycle

Hi,

During packaging asdf-time-schemas for Guix I've faceed with issue where I can't enable test of the package because it's depends on asdf package which requries asdf-time-schemas. Is there any chance to break that cycle?

Currently there are no plans to break the cycle.

This package primarily provides schemas that describe data within ASDF files. To test these schema are packaged in a way asdf (the python library) can understand we need to use the asdf library during the tests. The asdf pytest plugin (bundled with and dependent on asdf) also checks the examples within the schemas.

I am open to suggestions for how to break this cycle while preserving the integration and schema tests.
