Docker

Link to the docker image https://hub.docker.com/r/aehr/nsxv3-exporter

Utilisation

Exporter is exposing metrics at : http://localhost:PortNumber/ You can change the port in the YAML file. You will have to mount the config file on the container in /app/config/ . There is some metrics about the python process itslef, but the most importants metrics are tagged by "NSXv3" at the begining. You can add other urls that you will want to monitor by following the links given by VMWare at "https://developer.vmware.com/apis/1083/nsx-t".
The "url_list" of the config file is used to provide a list of API url that return a field "resulat_count" with a value.
The "check_list" is used to find a value near a desired field in an API result.

config.yml

port: 7789
scrape_frequency: 1
user : "login"
password : "password!"
label : "NSXv3"
target : "https://NSX-Manager-IP:port"
url_list :

    name : "logical_routers"
  • link : "/api/v1/vpn/ipsec/dpd-profiles"
    name : "dpd_profiles"
  • link : "/policy/api/v1/infra/tier-1s"
    name : "tier1_number"
  • link : "/api/v1/edge-clusters"
    name : "edge_clusters"

    name : "tiers0_DOWN"
    regex_word : "connectivity"

Debugging

To solve any issue, be carreful if you need to adapt your MTU due to TLS. You can also use a docker image with the tag ":debug" that will be more verbose.
