maximum current uno wifi rev2

First of all my apologies if this is not the right place, it is my first time posting something like this on github.

According to the arduino site the maximum current for the digital I/O pins is 20 mA, but according to the datasheet on Mouser (https://nl.mouser.com/ProductDetail/Arduino/ABX00021?qs=%252BEew9%252B0nqrBypi1Yoqvaaw%3D%3D) and see attached file it is 40mA. Also the uno Wifi 1 is able to handle 40mA.

My question right now is "Which is the right one?".

40 mA is the Absolute Maximum Rating. From the datasheet:

Stresses beyond those listed in this section may cause permanent damage to the device. This is a stress rating only
and functional operation of the device at these or other conditions beyond those indicated in the operational sections
of this specification is not implied. Exposure to absolute maximum rating conditions for extended periods may affect
device reliability.

So you should not use the device at the absolute maximum rating values. 20 mA is a safe value for normal usage without causing damage.

I'm going to reopen this because I think someone should look into this issue of the datasheet provided by Mouser (linked from their Uno WiFi Rev2 product page) providing different information:
