Modem
Find, fix, and follow up on every customer concern. Modem gives your whole team one living record of what customers said, what you're building, and what shipped.
Issues and PRs, connected to the customers behind them
- Issues as feedback. GitHub issues are captured as user feedback alongside Slack, support tickets, Discord, and your other sources, so public bug reports and feature requests join the same topics.
- Shipping context. PR titles, descriptions, and review discussion give Modem's agent an accurate picture of what your team is actually shipping.
- Close the loop on merge. With the opt-in Close the loop automation, a merged PR linked to a topic posts a Slack note to your team listing the customers who asked for it.
- Automations on PR events. Trigger Modem automations when a PR is opened, merged, or closed without merging, e.g. to post shipping updates or link PRs to the feedback behind them.
Modem syncs metadata only: issue and PR titles, descriptions, comments, labels, and review discussion. It doesn't read your source code, browse repositories, or pull full diffs.
Installation Notes
- Start from Modem: Settings → Integrations → GitHub → Connect GitHub. You'll need permission to install GitHub Apps on the repositories or organization, and an admin or owner role in your Modem organization.
- Choose All repositories or Selected repositories, then click Install & Authorize.
- Back in Modem, turn on each repository you want captured. Enabling one backfills its open issues from the last 30 days, then new activity syncs as it happens.
- Change repository access any time from Modem's GitHub settings or from your GitHub App installation settings.
