# CHANGES TO THE MODEL

## Enemy and Friend Cannot Be The Same Turtle

The original model had the shortcoming that the enemy and friend of a turtle can be the same agent. So to overcome the stated problem, the `who` id of friend is stored in a variable called `id` and then the enemy of the turtle is randomly selected from the list of other turtles not having the same `who` id as the `who` id of the friend.

### Verification

To verify the solution, if the friend and enemy of a turtle are the same we output `Same friend and enemy` on the console. In the original model the above statement gets printed on the console while in the modified case it doesn't.

## Percentage of Heroes Using Slider

In the mixed case, a slider is provided to take input the percentage of heroes. A variable `heroes` is created to calculate the number of turtles with `brave` personality trait and a variable `cowards` keeps track of the number of turtles with personality trait `coward`. Then the color of the current turtle is randomly set to either `blue` denoting `brave` or `red` denoting `coward`. 

If the color of the current turtle is `blue` count of `heroes` is decreased else count of `cowards` is decreased. If the count of either `heroes` or `cowards` goes below zero then the rest of the turtles can only be `cowards` and `heroes` respectively. So their color is set and the count of the appropriate variable is decreased accordingly.

## Varying Percentage of Heroes

When we vary the percentage of heroes for the presets provided, there exists a tipping point below which the emergent pattern is something else and above which the emergent pattern is something else. For example the `dot` preset behaves as `frozen` till 41% of `heroes` and after that point behaves as a `dot`. Similarly for the other presets, they behave as `frozen` till some percentage of `heroes` and then behave as `dot` when the percentage of `heroes` exceeds some value. 

This emergent pattern arises because when the percentage of `heroes` is less than that of the cowards they tend to freeze at percentages determined by the seeds passed in the presets. This is in contrast to the original model because there the friend and enemy of a turtle could be the same turtle, as well as the percentage of `heroes` were determined using the seed passed through the presets. But here the emergent patterns of the presets cannot be seen since the configurations required for the presets are changed.
