Redirect incorrect URLs

If a user attempts to go to a URL that doesn't exist (e.g., https://registration.genomecenter.ucdavis.edu/events/nonexistent/apply/) they get "Server Error (500)". It would be more informative to either redirect to an error page (e.g., "The page you have requested does not exist" with a link to the front page). If that's not possible, can they be redirected to the front page?
