How to add hyperlink in bibliography to the pdf of the paper?

How can I add Hyperlinks on the publications page to pdfs of my papers that are let's say uploaded to a folder called papers under assets? I tried looking at the jekyll-scholar documentation and it suggests mentioning that folder under the "repository" option in the scholar configuration section, and then adding the documents using bibtex key as filename. I'm just not sure how to create the hyperlinks in the publications page on the paper names by using the "links" property as described in jekyll-scholar (https://github.com/inukshuk/jekyll-scholar/#file-repositories). Can anybody suggest what changes I need to make? Perhaps in the bib.html template or in the bibliography query on the publications.md page?
