I'm slightly reluctant to give out root access to a machine like this unless strictly necessary. I would like to have #1327 understood and resolved to see if we can move this to not running as root. I heard rumours that it was due to the use of the forever service used to restart TRSS, but never saw any evidence of this (and I'm sure I've used forever in the past as non-root). Can we resolve that issue?
We were hoping infrastructure folks would have a say in how to resolve that issue. If I am not mistaken, currently root is needed to ensure that the forever service is running (so that if trss goes down, it will be brought back up). You had mentioned you thought there were other ways. Do you know of other approaches for accomplishing the same behaviour?
