Minutes:

  • Sophia gives a quick overview of Auto-generate test jobs ci-jenkins-pipelines#75 that autogenerates test jobs if they are not already created (will help especially as we add new versions and do not need to manually run the Test_Auto_Gen_Job ahead of the first time tests get enabled... which is not always communicated clearly, so now no need for improved comms ;) )
  • Overview of JDK16 release plan outlined here: Release plan for jdk16 AdoptOpenJDK/TSC#206 and that we will begin our code freeze now for new feature work, fixes and test exclusions still okay (2 reviewers as always)
  • During code freeze, we will try to create all of the test repos over in the Adoptium organization and attempt to do the switch over so that we can move to working in and using the repos out of Adoptium versus those in AdoptOpenJDK immediately after the release and when the freeze is lifted.
    • This swap out will have to be coordinated, not just at our Jenkins server, but at OpenJ9 and with any vendor using the AQA stuff, otherwise they will be working out of the AdoptOpenJDK repos which will be switched to read only and no longer receiving new features and fixes.
    • Need to make sure all contributors, including CanOSP students get ECAs so they can continue to make contributions. For current PRs, depending on what is easiest, we may merge them into existing repo and then port to new repo, or just reconstruct it in the new repo (if its small/easy).
    • We intend to keep all history and issues in this migration, so it will hopefully not be too disruptive.
  • Outreachy, contribution period will start in a few weeks, so between now and then, team effort to create more "good first issues" and review existing ones (here)
  • AOB
    • there is now an Adoptium Community call scheduled bi-weekly on Mondays (find past and present ones here) for broader issues
    • next AQAvit meeting topics may include TRSS roadmap, other ideas welcome
