Themes not applying across multiple files

I've installed the "Dark Soda" theme and selected it. It applies to the current file, but when I open any new files it reverts back to the default.

Steps to reproduce:

1. Install "Dark Soda" theme
2. Open a file and select the "Dark Soda" theme from the "Themes" menu
3. Theme should be applied to current file.
4. Open a new file from the same project

Expected outcome:

Selected theme should automatically be applied to any new files opened

Actual outcome:

The default theme is applied to newly opened files
