Hi,
As you can see on my screenshot, the window gets not correctly drawn with WindowBlinds http://stardock.com

But even without WB the whole app is very laggy since the Dark Shell, please remove it. The menubar > item gets drawn one by one and even on window moving the whole system gets slow.
The versions without the Dark shell were really fast and had never any problems.

And my system isn't even that slow

Reviewed. It sounds like there are several issues here:

  • Repaint issue for users of WindowBlinds -- marking 'no priority' (fairly uncommon use case, has known problems with various other apps too)
  • Menu items drawn one by one at startup -- duplicate of [Dark Shell] Win: Slow menu drawing at startup #5266, which is in the process of being fixed
  • Lag while dragging titlebar -- we haven't received any other reports of this problem. @chiwou could you disable WindowBlinds and check whether the problem still happens then? If so, please file a new bug so we can investigate separately.

If the dark UI is really bothering you, it should be possible to roll your own build of brackets-shell with the DARK_UI flag turned off (see the #define in config.h).

yes I could disable windowblinds for Brackets, and it wouldn't be a prob if apps would follow the Windows Design guidelines :P
The lagging is gone too, but I would really recommend disable the Dark shell at all, it's not that pretty and seems to create some problems, not just with WB, also with wrong titlebar heights and the menu issue of course

but thanks for the reply
take care
