Description

Very simple. I installed Brackets and launched it, proceeding to follow a tutorial. I right clicked on the sidebar and clicked "New Folder". I attempted to name the folder "New Page". The error message came up saying "An error occurred when trying to create the directory New Page. (error NotReadable)". I don't know if this is a bug or if it's my computer or what but it's weird because I can't even start writing. The next part of the tutorial was to right click and create a new file, however I am unable to do that as I can't even create the folder.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Right click on sidebar
  2. Click "New Folder"

Expected behavior: [What you expected to happen]
Create the folder
Actual behavior: [What actually happened]
Error message which said "An error occurred when trying to create the directory New Page. (error NotReadable)".

Versions

Using the current version with Windows 10.
Release 1.9 build 1.9.0-17312

When you launch Brackets the first time it should open a "Getting started" project.
If I remember correctly these projects are saved in a location that is not writeable by default.
Could you open a new project with "Open Folder..." and see if the error still occurs?
Make sure to open a project you know to have enough permission to be writeable.
