In Windows 8.1, I'm facing the problem of not being capable of Showing windows side by side with Brackets.

If I click Windows Bottom Tool Bar > Show windows side by side, Brackets' window won't re-size.

Thanks for reporting this. This use case I think was never tested for or reported in windows till now.
Most probably and issue with native shell.
