While adding a project folder to Brackets the file browser shows the hidden files in the directory and after the project folder is added the sidebar displays those hidden files. Is it normal ?

I see this behavior on OSX 10.9 as well. I notice that some apps have an option of 'show hidden files' in their open dialog (like textWrangler) but not switched on by default. Adding 'needs review'

Does Mac have a concept of "hidden files" other than files starting with a dot? Files starting with dot are shown in Brackets quite intentionally since they are often text config files that you need to edit as part of your software development work (e.g. .gitignore or .config).

Windows has an actual "hidden file" attribute that's independent of filename -- which we also ignore, but it seems like the same argument might apply there too.

Seems like a valid enhancement request to make this a preference, though given how long Brackets has worked this way and how few people have complained, it seems low priority... (a really hacky extension could change this behavior too, if desired)
