When I download a video that has 2 audio tracks, it always takes the English audio track.
but i would like to have the german soundtrack.
how or where can i set it to use the german audio track?

There have been several reports in this forum on this subject. You would do well to search for them & read them.

It is a bit of an accident what audio track you get. The master manifest on the web site lists the videos with multiple audio tracks. Whichever language is listed first is the one VDH downloads. We've got folks on here complaining that they're getting only the German sound track or only the Polish soundtrack. That's because in their particular cases, those happen to be the first ones as listed on the web site. The problem is that VDH does not currently include logic that allows for the possibility of there being multiple sound tracks available in a variant. It is often possible -- not always, but often -- to get the content in question using ffmpeg directly yourself. If you give me a sample URL, I'll see if it's possible to get an alternative sound track for that video. Don't tell me the name of a web site. Give me a URL of a specific page where a video resides & I'll see what I can do.
