In this pull request I changed the way to compress the icons and how to read them.
Now it is only read once when loading the gem and then the icons are accessed in memory, avoiding disk access.
What do you think?
On the other hand, I had to upgrade the mimemagic gem, because version 0.3.5 was removed from RubyGems.
