Setup:
-
- Raspberry Pi 4B 4GB
- 32GB Flash SD Card
- Ubuntu 21.04 Server (aarch64) https://ubuntu.com/download/raspberry-pi
- Balena Etcher (to write the OS to the SD card)
- HDMI Monitor, micro HDMI to HDMI cable
- USB Keyboard
- USB 3 power cable
- Ethernet cable (WiFi is also an option, but I leave that as an exercise for the reader)
- Use Balena Etcher to write the OS to the SD card
- Insert the SD card into your Pi and power it up
- Once the OS boots, login with
ubuntu
as both the username and password. A password change will be forced at this point. - If you want to use SSH from this point on (this tutoruial assumes you will), get the Pi's IP Address
$ ip address
- SSH into the Pi
> ssh ubuntu@[your_pi_address]
Here we opt to install the full SDK. Only the runtime is required, so if you want a smaller install, you can find online documentation for that.
