Certain pseudo-classes, especially those like :first-child and :nth-child, would be very useful for building containers that distribute children based on position. Currently users of such containers have to add some other class or attribute to children to select on.

Let me close this because we are heading to "the Slots proposal".
I don't think we will change the current behavior of <content> any more.
