Status bar missing?

Hello I just installed and I do not see the status bar anywhere in my scrreen, is this normal? I try read some issues and look in the readme of the repo but didn't find anything, is a configuration to show the status bar? I have the workbench.statusBar.visible set to false, but I didn't see any mode indicator when changing it to visible again

I restarted vscode and now I do see the it in the status bar
