How to use the ex: command propery

Hello friends!
Thanks for an awesome extension.
I was trying to enable neovim in the extension
and i was wondering if it is me doing something wrong or if the feature is not stable yet.

I am able to visually select text and do for example

# <','>normal A hello 
Test text
Test text

this will append hello to the end of all the lines selected

Test text hello
Test text hello

but i cant seem to do more advanced commands
for example i want to append to last line and then go back to normal mode and insert on the start of the line a number like this

# <','>normal A hello <esc> I 52

this should output

52 Test text hello
52 Test text hello

Am i missing something here?
