Custom blacklists format

What is the format of such blacklists? Hosts file or something else?

Does it allow asterisks in subdomain names? Like *.doubleclick.net or similar

check the advanced settings. since this is an advanced seetting, this is not activetly supported though.

Can you give a little more detail on where in advanced settings it is possible to add custom domains to the blacklist ?

I tried using this for filtering youtube ad urls but it doesn't work. I don't really understand if this setting is used to add domain names to the filtering list (so that blocking can be adjusted per-app) or to truly blacklist them (requests to these domains blocked for all apps).
