UltraSearch Release Checklist

Use this list before cutting v1.0.0.

Common

  • npm run build succeeds.
  • cargo check succeeds.
  • The app launches cleanly from a fresh start.
  • English mode has no leftover Chinese strings on the main paths.
  • Settings persist across restarts.
  • Search by filename, path, and type works as expected.
  • Open Path opens the containing folder or path target correctly.
  • Copy Address copies the full file path.
  • README, screenshots, and release notes reflect the current product direction.
  • The current git state is clean before tagging.

macOS

  • App launches without Dock or window icon regressions.
  • Dock icon uses the intended branded asset.
  • open_path works with Finder integration.
  • File watching and indexing remain stable after repeated app restarts.
  • Dark mode visuals remain readable.

Windows

  • App launches and the window icon appears correctly.
  • explorer path opening works.
  • Long paths and spaces in paths are handled correctly.
  • File watching and indexing work on a real Windows machine.
  • No macOS-specific assumptions remain in the UI text or instructions.

Linux

  • App launches on a real Linux desktop session.
  • xdg-open path opening works.
  • File watching works in the target desktop environment.
  • The app does not depend on macOS-only or Windows-only behavior.
  • Packaging or distribution assumptions are documented if a Linux package is not yet shipped.
