I'd like to request the capability to assign a static name to a MAC address without the requirement to assign a static IP address as well. There is a use case both globally and within scope to assign a dynamic IP address to a MAC. That way, a host that is "known" on the network would always get the same DNS name, but not be tied to a static IP allowing a smaller pool of IPs to be used for a guest network for instance.
