Option to download using external download manager #9142
Comments
This is one of the points of #962, though that issue deals with a lot of ideas. |
We'll just remove it from there. |
Since Seal is available on F-Droid, this would be low priority. |
Well seal is specifically for YouTube what I was asking for is to download YouTube videos via a general purpose download manager. Installing an extra app for just YouTube seems pretty frustrating. I'll rather use savefrom.net by just adding ss before YouTube in url in any browser until this feature gets implemented... |
That logic is a little strange. You can easily view YT videos using a general purpose app, which is your browser. Why use Newpipe at all, then? For that matter, likely more than half of any regular smartphone user's apps could be replaced with just their browser app. We use apps because they provide us better functionality than using websites. |
Checklist
Feature description
An option to share link to an external download manager within downloads window.
Why do you want this feature?
Since downloads are not stable in new pipe whenever new pipe is not in foreground speed drops to 0kbps most of the times then you have to pause and resume again an external download manager might help. Also it will provide users to chose between the native downloader or an external download manager which will be a nice addition.
