Affected Android/Custom ROM version

Android 12

Affected device model

Oneplus 9

Additional information

Sorry for the confusing title, but I couldn't come up with another way to phrase that.

Also videos can also sometimes be recovered by tapping on the video below them, but if you try to play the video directly it will play the video it was overwritten with; so it's not just a visual error

I've been messing around with this bug and I've notice more interesting behaviour:

  • opening the overwritten version plays the original instead
  • removing the original keeps the overwritten version, although it will play the song above if selected; I'm going to call these 'ghost videos'
  • opening the playing in the foreground and checking the queue there removes all ghost videos from the queue, and this persists if you go back to the background player and open it's Play Queue menu again

One last thing: the overwritten videos stay if the original ISN'T deleted.
That means it effectively destroys whatever was below it, which I imagine would be maddening for people designing playlists in the Play Queue.
