Subscription feed filter #8069
Comments
Dealing with channels that post a high number of videos really makes filtering a pretty basic feature. Besides the suggested changes (long/short in particular being the most important IMO), being able to set up static (i.e. pre-configured) text filters for each channel would also do wonders to improve the situation. |
Any news about this project? |
Any progress? This is a very desirable feature! |
The ability to do this by channel would be a huge plus, so that subscription groups only shows us what we want. |

Might be useful to have the ability to pause updates for a subscription or put subscriptions into different categories. It's really easy to miss a high impact but low frequency publisher because your feed is bloated with many other interesting but high volume (and potentially hit or miss) publishers. |
actually, i just realized that if I click the eyeball icon on the "What's new" tab, it lets me filter out Upcoming videos. |
I think 4 simple features could solve all of this:
Right now the group feature exists, but it is just too hard to use. |

For those who don't know, |
IMO, this option should be remembered for each channel group separately. Many channels upload shorts, it's hard to filter each individually |
@SameenAhnaf If it’s filtered per group and not per channel, will it still apply in the “What’s New” tab? Not everybody wants to use separate group tabs; it’s nice to have a clean flat feed. Especially if it’s filtered and therefore not cluttered. |
Also, to all mainteiners: when you decide whether to implement this, please consider #11555 in your calculations, as the justification there is a tad more elaborate. Thank you. |
@natewind You could paste it as a comment here. |
@opusforlife2 Good idea! There are often cases when you want only specifc types of content from a channel, e. g.:
And it would be a more pleasant experience without the need to filter out all the noise visually. BTW, #10676 doesn’t really solve this because you still have to filter, now in several tabs. Plus, it’s nice to have a clean flat list of new videos, without the extra complexity of separate categories. |

Feature description
Checkboxes for different streams
Why do you want this feature?
I have a lot of channel subscription. And some of them are active streamers. Most of the time i only want to browse short duration videos on my subscription feed. And the amount of live streams both lives and archive usually make it a hassle to scroll down.
