Auto-add videos from subscriptions to a playlist #10870
Comments
Why not use the custom feed feature that's already in the app? You can use the visibility option to hide watched videos. |
Well,
The point of my suggestion is that adding videos is automatic but removing them is always explicit. So it works like a checklist: you go through every new video and decide to either watch it or skip it, and you’ll never miss anything accidentally, and the list is kept indefinitely and can even be backed up. |
There's an option to hide/show partially watched videos.
Mark as unwatched so that you can rewatch it? Same for 3rd point. Same for 4th, except inverse.
Yep.
It won't vanish from your feed either. The automatic vs explicit control works just as well in the current state. |
Sounds ok, I’ll definitely try it. But can you back it up? Also, can you watch a feed like a playlist, with autoplay? Sometimes it’s convenient. |
How about you try it all and then come back with your user experience instead? |
Yeah, makes sense. |
Ok, I have tried it, and it still bothers me that I have to keep history forever in order to keep old videos out of the feed. It’s kind of backwards that in order to have a list of videos I plan to watch, I have to keep an ever-growing list of clutter I do not want. With a playlist, you could have an option to only keep watch progress until you delete the video from the list. |
Checklist
Feature description
Please add the option to automatically add all new videos from subscriptions to a dedicated playlist when opening the app or reloading the playlist.
Why do you want this feature?
If you watch most videos from the channels you’re subscribed to, it’s more convenient to have a checklist instead of an infinite feed. It won’t be cluttered by the videos you’ve seen already, but you’ll never miss anything you haven’t, and if you want to skip a video, you can just delete it from the playlist.
