[Feature Request]: Tweaking the Media Player controls to be less cramped for certain aspect ratios

Description

When playing portrait/tall (instagram/tiktok format) videos the player media controls squeeze into a small space making them difficult to use. Also the hitbox on the progress bar is sometimes difficult to click in the right place causing the video to pause instead.

Solution

If the controls could expand to the width of the preview window leaving the video itself untouched which would also give more space to add some right padding to the duration time to have it less squeezed up to the edge. Also make the "hitbox" on the progress bar just a tiny bit taller to make misclicks slightly less likely.

Alternatives

If possible just expanding the whole player to be the width of the preview window without affecting the aspect ratio of the video could also work.

This seems like a great idea! It would definitely make the player feel less cramped.

I assume you would fill the extra space in the media player with a dark background?
