Is your widget a widget that should be shipped with TYPO3?.

How can this widget help the user?
A personalised widget can function as a "welcome" card and can help the user keep track of his/her changes.

Describe the information you would like to show
A list of the articles or pages changed by the logged user (the editor can access his/her article much faster to make small changes). Informations related to the login.

Can be solved with very little code by refactoring #69 and creating the "content changes" list as a decoupled feature or base class, then providing a widget that specifically shows "content/page changes for current BE user".
