OrcaSlicer Version

1.9.0

OS version

Windows 11

Additional system information

Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E3-1230 V2 @ 3.30GHz 3.30 GHz

Printer

Elegoo Neptune 4

How to reproduce

  1. Open Filament Settings of an existing filament
  2. Change nothing and save it under a new name
  3. All options are the same as before
  4. exit Orca Slicer
  5. open Orca Slicer
  6. Open Filament Settings and select the filament saved before

Actual results

Problem 1: Now, many options have changed and no longer match the previously saved ones.
Problem 2: If I now change the print bed temperature for this filament, save it, and restart Orca Slicer, the print bed temperature is changed again. It retains some options, but others are reset after a restart.

Expected results

The options set during saving should be retained after restarting Orca Slicer.

Curious, what is your Sync Profile (there's a few settings in there that deal with syncing, iirc) in Preferences set to?

I used to have all sorts of problems like this until I disabled that setting. That was quite a few versions back though. IIRC, changing it changes where the configs are saved.

With disabled sync options the problem is the same.

Confirmed from my side too. After I thought I had gone mad, this drives me mad.
Happens here for volumentric speed, nozzle temp and bed temp.
I set all temperatures to 0 to let my printer handle these.

I just checked the written json file. The temperature settings are simply not being persisted into the file at all. :(
Thats a serious bug. Makes me wonder how it can be existing for half a year and just so few people even notice it.
I now have to work around and never start with a blank project again cause all the filament settings will be f***d up otherwise.

Happening with 2.1.1 on Win10.

Seems it has to do with inheritance of profiles (which I hate cause its super intransparent mechanism).
I edited the profile json files and emptied the "inherits" property.
Then, after restarting Orca, the profiles seem to be saved correctly.
