HOW TO: Configure the GPU Meter

The GPU Meter gadget requires using the HWiNFO monitoring application. HWiNFO must be running in the background with the Sensors panel active.

To configure the GPU Meter, do the following

  1. Start HWiNFO if it is not already running. If you have not yet configured HWiNFO, follow the instructions here.
  2. From the GPU Meter, click the wrench in the upper right corner to open the GPU Meter Settings.
  3. Click the HWiNFO icon or the List HWiNFO Indexes link to display the HWiNFO indexes you selected during the Sensor Settings configuration.
  4. Click the Notepad icon to display the HWiNFO configuration file, and carefully follow the instructions in the file to assign the indexes to the appropriate variables for your various devices.
  5. Save the HWiNFO configuration file and click the blue Refresh icon in the Settings to refresh Rainmeter.
  6. If you configured HWiNFO to report temperatures in Fahrenheit, check the Show Temperatures in °F option.
  7. If known, enter the maximum GPU fan speed in the Max GPU Fan RPM textbox; if unknown, enter a low number (e.g., 100) and the GPU Meter will learn the maximum value over time.
