The problem, which has now been resolved, was not allowing products duplicating an existing product to be added to the cart. The code around the cart has not been changed from the default.
Originally, when the add to cart button was pressed, the number of items would be added to the cart icon in the header, but it was not added and the cart remained empty, both in and out of the cart.
I would like to know the cause if anyone has experienced a similar event. Thank you in advance.
