Description
❤️ First Time Contributors
Welcome to Iris! 😊
This is a permanently pinned issue dedicated to our lovely first time contributors and those new to Iris, keen to get involved.
We'd really love to hear from you, so checkout our GitHub Discussions. Ask a question, share an idea, ask for help, tell us what we could do better or simply say "Hi!"
. It couldn't be easier to contribute and get involved.
If you have a specific question about a particular issue or pull-request then just tag @SciTools/iris-devs in a comment to grab our attention.
Where do I start?
First-up, checkout some top-tips in our Developers Guide. Then maybe take a peek at our Release Discussions to see what's happening.
What do I work on?
Don't be shy, just go for it! 🚀
Perhaps you fancy taking on an issue? That's a really great place to start. So why not see if any of these good first issues help you begin your contribution journey.
Alternatively, you might prefer to start with documentation. If so, our Documentation Kanban Board is the place where all budding Will Shakespeare's hangout. Reading and contributing to the documentation will really help give you a better understanding of Iris and what it's offering to the Scientific Python community.
