Regarding docs the expiration date should be null on lifetime access, but it's 2222:

Hi! Thanks for writing in. This is valid feedback.

This might be a bit confusing, and it's something that we might want to improve for consistency, but here's what's going on:

Lifetime purchases granted through the dashboard actually grant a non-renewing subscription for 200 years.

However, lifetime purchases that are granted through making a one time purchase (nonconsumables in Apple terms), don't have an expiration date.

I'm going to bring this up with the team to talk about ways to improve consistency, since this is happening due to an implementation detail in entitlements granted through the dashboard.

@obrunsmann update here: we've added it to the backlog, but I don't have an ETA yet. Ticket here for internal reference.

Thanks again for bringing it up!

Hopefully my explanation helps work around this issue in the meantime, but let me know if you need any further help with it!

@aboedo Fully got it, thanks for your explanation!

Makes sense for me, though of course the promotion of "real lifetime" entitlements for e.g. some special users would be a nice feature.

Thanks!
