Describe the bug

This isn't quite a bug however, I've been trying to figure out what was causing horrible performance on both of my Octoprint servers and I finally tracked it down to this Resource Monitor plugin. I have two RPIs running Octoprint, one a RPI 3 B+ and a RPI 4 2GB, both having significantly reduced performance with this plugin installed. This ranges from taking forever to upload GCODE files and saving them, to my Slicer thumbnail plugin generating a thumbnail.

To Reproduce

Steps to reproduce the behavior:
Compare GCODE file upload speed with and without this plugin. I uploaded 4 different GCODE files, ranging from 5MB to 65MB.

Version of OctoPrint-Resource-Monitor

0.3.15 - Installed from the OctoPrint Plugin Manager.

Server configuration

  • OS: OctoPrint 1.9.2 build 20230720144556 from branch camera-streamer (New Camera Stack) - Installed from RPI Imager
  • Browser: Chrome
