I just played around a bit with it. Resetting the wheelDebounceTime and wheelPxPerZoomLevel to their defaults, the map feels a bit fast and crude to scroll.

I think I will add an option to adjust zoom speed. Can have one of three values. Fast, medium, slow. I think the current values can be labelled as Slow. The defaults listed above can be Fast. Then something in between can be medium. This will then be the default.
