Why are you submitting this feature request
Some IPFS use cases would be better off if pinning would be allowed for a shorter duration than current smallest one which is currently 1 month.

It would be good to get down to N days or N weeks.

Additionally, the current duration for a pinned object should be updatable (shortening or extension)

Describe the solution you'd like

We would like the duration to become updatable via both API and interactive UI.

With regards to the pin extension, you can do this via the API https://gateway.temporal.cloud/ipns/docs.api.temporal.cloud/ipfs.html#post-extend-pin

@chaingrok Just out of curiosity, what is your use case? Is it security related?

@xiegeo the use case is to post files that are valid only for a couple of days. To avoid unnecessary confusion by the end users, we would like to pin them for minimum duration so that they disappear as soon as they are no longer valid.

@bonedaddy : thanks for the hint, we will explore that. But, the core issue remains to be able to pin content for days instead of at least a month.
