Aggregators are intermediary services that retrieve RSS feeds on a schedule and are then able to deliver the contents more quickly to clients. The client still sees all the same feeds and contents but they're delivered in one lump from one source, with very little waiting. A fraction of a second to retrieve all your feeds compared to tens of seconds in a regular client that polls each feed.
Aggregators usually serve their data using the Google Reader spec that was created for developers to write Google Reader clients.
The result is that Folo would provide a quicker and more friendly user experience too those who prefer to use aggregators.
Other benefits is that Folo could offload the error prone feed parsing and not have to reinvent the wheel.
