Show CI status for Git repositories

Hey,
thanks for this awesome project!
I would like to integrate the CI status for a Git repository into my prompt. The hup ci-status command provides this information. I attempt to add my own simple segment, parsing the output of this command. Unfortunately this is super slow due to the RPC to GitHub. So I would like to ask you how I could to this asynchronous? I mean an integration into the revolutionary git segment is hard, since hub is a new dependency, that should be optional.
