Thanks for doing that. I tried it again, and failed to do it correctly. I merely doing what every other discussion forum site requires to post a link using the prompt provided, but I see that doesn't work here. Here is another test. It worked this time, so if I can type or copy/paste a link directly into the comment, then what is the point of having a Link tool icon in the tool bar that leads one in the direction of failing to insert a link? I see now in the Add a comment "Markdown is supported", something I know little about and will have to investigate. |

Here is my 1st test video of NightDriver's laserline uploaded to a M5 StickC Plus that is driving my 84 strip LED 3D LightBox. I began this project in earnest back in 2018 by refurbishing the baffles in my original lightbox that I made in 1975 that used 20 C7 blinking XMas tree lamps, 4 different colored bulbs in each of 5 sections of the box. It was completely random in the color patterns that it made as music played and the remarkable thing was that the randomness of the colors mixing, going on and off appeared that it was sync'd to the music.
It was at this time that I started using LED strips to edge light acrylic enagravings that I'd been doing, and soon this led me to learn of the programmable WS2812B RGB LED strips. I started designing a new version of the LightBox for possible use with this new technology, but I first needed to do photographic tests for how bright this LED strip was capable of "painting" a white background via bounce lighting. Those test showed me that the WS2812B's were more than appropriate for this application.
Next, was learning the rudiments of using MCU's like the Arduino UNO and its IDE for writing program control of the strip. This eventually led me to Dave's Garage Laser Cannon video, and I knew this was the better path to take with my project.
