To keep our conversations organized, please use the most appropriate category for your post. Here’s a quick guide:

🛠️ The Route for Reporting: Discussions vs. Issues

To help us track and resolve problems efficiently:

Use Discussions for:

• “How do I configure the reranker model?” → Post in Q&A
• “It would be cool if the app could index audio transcripts.” → Post in Ideas
• “Check out this classifier I trained for legal documents!” → Post in Show and Tell

Use GitHub Issues for:

• “The application crashes when I try to index a .zip file.” → Bug Report
• “Add a button to export search results to CSV.” → Feature Request

📝 How to Submit a Great Issue

If you've found a bug or have a concrete feature request, head over to the [Issues tab] and:

1. Click New Issue.
2. Choose the appropriate template (Bug report or Feature request).
3. Fill out the template with as much detail as possible (steps to reproduce, expected behavior, screenshots, etc.).
4. For Bug Reports, please provide two key pieces of information:
   • 🤖 AI Setup: If the bug, error, or misbehavior involves the AI Search, you must specify your AI provider (e.g., Ollama, LM Studio, Groq) and the exact LLM model name you are using.
   • 📋 Console Logs: Always include the full logs from the terminal where you launched the application.
5. Add relevant labels (e.g., bug, enhancement, documentation) to help us prioritize.

If you want to contribute to the project, please be sure to discuss it beforehand. Do not submit any pull requests or changes to the repository without prior confirmation.

Hi and congratulation for building this promising tool.
I was about to start developping an equivalent one when I discovered FPS...
The nice thing with FPS is that you don't need to play with Docker, Python or whatever exotic framework, just a GUI.

Hi and welcome!

Initially, I built the project for my own daily use, then decided to publish it so others could benefit as well. That’s why it’s engineered with a focus on backend and UX, not just code.

I personally hate using heavy, slow, and time-consuming tools for everyday tasks. I believe tools should be beautiful, intuitive, and if they have complexity, it should stay hidden in the background, not exposed to the end user.

I’m really glad you liked it. Hope you enjoy testing it!
