String-Theoretic Unification of the U₂₄ Programme

What This Paper Is About

The same number — Ω = 24 — governs the Reeds endomorphism, the Monster group, the Leech lattice, and the bosonic string. This paper makes the identification explicit: the U₂₄ framework IS string theory, with the Reeds endomorphism providing the discrete data that selects our universe from the string landscape.

The Core Claim

In string theory, the Standard Model parameters are determined by the "choice of vacuum" — which compactification, which fluxes, which Wilson lines. There are an estimated 10⁵⁰⁰ possibilities (the "string landscape"). Nobody knows which one is ours.

The Reeds endomorphism answers this: the basin partition [9,7,1,6] IS the vacuum selection. The partition replaces 10⁵⁰⁰ continuous moduli with a single discrete structure. The observed constants (α, θ_W, α_s, Koide, w) are the unique outputs of this vacuum.

All three vertices — arithmetic (Riemann zeros), physics (Standard Model constants), and string theory (critical spectrum) — are projections of the same 23×23 coupling matrix J.


The Algebraic Uniqueness Theorem

The strongest result: the four measured physical constants algebraically determine the partition.

1/α = 137 + B₀/250    →  B₀ = 9  (only integer)
sin²θ_W = B₃/26       →  B₃ = 6  (only integer)
g_ratio = B₂/B₃       →  B₂ = 1  (forced)
Sum = 23               →  B₁ = 7  (forced)

The partition [9,7,1,6] is not selected from a space of possibilities. It is computed from the measured values. The physics computes the arithmetic, and the arithmetic computes the physics. Same equation, both directions.

0/94 alternative partitions satisfy all constraints. This was verified by exhaustive enumeration.


Adversarial Falsification

This paper includes the programme's harshest self-criticism:

Honest assessment: The α formula alone is not statistically rare. The strength is the JOINT constraint — no partition matches all four constants simultaneously. And the three genuine predictions (α_s, Koide, w) have structural derivations, not post-hoc fitting.

Why It Matters

This paper resolves the string landscape problem. There are not 10⁵⁰⁰ vacua — there is one. The basin partition [9,7,1,6] selects it. The selection is not a choice but a theorem: given the measured constants, the partition is computed.

The Reeds endomorphism — a lookup table from a 1583 manuscript — is the discrete data that answers "why these constants?" The answer is arithmetic:
