Is there a way to mark a test as "expected failure"?

Could you give us more details about your use case?

You can use some assertions to test what is not expected:

GET https://foo.com/undefined
HTTP 404

Or

GET https://foo.com
HTTP *
[Asserts]
status >= 500

You can also negate any assertions with not:

GET https://bar.com
HTTP 200
[Asserts]
body not contains "something"

You can also skip some test:

POST https://baz.com
[Options]
skip: true
HTTP 201

GET https://quz.com
HTTP 500

The use case is that e.g. some endpoint is temporarily buggy/unimplemented/hard to test with just the local db/on this platform, so it feels wrong to say HTTP 500 or whatever, but I'd also rather not just remove the test.
Or as https://docs.pytest.org/en/stable/how-to/skipping.html says:

An xfail means that you expect a test to fail for some reason. A common example is a test for a feature not yet implemented, or a bug not yet fixed. When a test passes despite being expected to fail, it’s an xpass and will be reported in the test summary.

I guess skip: true works, we just don't get the xpass, but fair enough.
