Strange Kernel error on new install from Installer script on Desktop PC running Ubuntu Mate 24.04

Sorry I'm posting in here rather than the live chat. I'll follow this up tomorrow if needed. Just tired and about to go to bed. But this is a bit curly and it could be helpful to others.

So I have rebuilt a Lenovo ThinkCenter Desktop PC using Linux Mate 24.04. This is the same OS running on a working install using a Lenovo ThinkPad. The main difference is on the ThinkCenter I'm using a USB mic rather than a built in mic as is on the ThinkPad.

The Installer version I ran to install OVOS was:
OPEN VOICE OS INSTALLER | Version: 02bcb61b

Everything installed fine. The TTS works as I can type a command in the GUI and I get a spoken response. It's just the input / mic that is failing. There is no indication that speech is being received.

The odd one is this one:
*AK5370 I/F A/D Converter Mono
Sometimes there will be nothing underneath, sometimes I will get 1 PipeWire ALSA [python3.12, and then sometimes I will have 2 under *AK5370. The only stay for a few seconds and disappear to reappear again.

I checked on the working laptop, and the PipeWire ALSA stays active and doesn't disappear.

I can provide the full syslog, but there was a lot of PHAL setups for network, etc that went through fine.

It's the kernel:traps bit that has me perplexed. Don't recall ever seeing that before. But it seems linked to the precise-lite which is what I can't get working.

I've done the usual stuff. I've rebooted the machine. Restarted OVOS. Used different USB ports on the system.

My big fear is that after this, I'm going to install on a Pi, where I'll be using a USB dongle to break out the mic and speakers. So if there's something inherently a problem with the USB detection, I'm worried I could have issues on the Pi.

Should also note that this same system, including the mic, was working with a slightly older version of OVOS < 0.0.8 and running Kubuntu 22.04. So maybe this is something to do with Ubuntu Mate. Or something they changed in 22.04. But if I could get some pointers as to what to try next, I'd really appreciate it.
