How to go about exposing existing schema

hi OpenDJ peeps...

I have an existing postgres database and want to expose certain parts of it as a directory on opendj as well as provide authentication. What's the right way to go about doing this?

I'm thinking perhaps a separate database mapped (views?!) on to my primary db in the way that opendj expects but is there a better way to go?

How would I write my own connector for it?
