Enhancement - Online Multiplayer Mode

Love this game! One of the best from the Amiga era.

One of the criticisms of the original series was the lack of multiplayer options (note it did came in with c f 3 - but that feels like a different game)

Fast Forward a few years and now we have OpenFodder.

It would fun to have a 4-8p online vs mode with each player controlling a squad (e.g. battling it out to see who is the last squad standing battle royal style).

I imagine it would be a lot of work tho.

Multiplayer was discussed many years ago and is listed in our "IDEAS.md" in the root of the project, but no actual work has ever been done towards it.

its probably not a massive job to get something working, clicks go into the squad leader troop, so it wouldnt be too hard to have multiple "input" devices controlling different squads.

but having something stable and user friendly is probably another story :)

am certainly not against having it, but i don't really have the motivation to implement such a feature at this time
