Assistive Devices in MyoSuite

MyoSuite as a platform has the potential to facilitate the study of both biological as well as electromechanical systems. This first step to enable this endeavor will be to create models of existing and under development exo and assistive devices.

There are a few models that can serve as a starting example

• MyoElbow model with Exo
• MyoLeg model with OSL
• MyoArm model with MPL
• Wheelchair model with MyoArms

Regarding which devices to prioritize in MyoAssist, I’ve been considering the following criteria:

• Diversity in device types (e.g., joints, actuators, transmissions)
• Open-source availability
• Commercial products (i.e., not limited to a single lab)
  Please feel free to share any other criteria we should take into account.

I'd vote for prioritizing where there are more users and more downstream applications. So, "devices that can be used by multiple users/companies" will be the guiding principle for me.

PS: I'm downweighting open-sourcesness of the hardware etc. As long as the hardware is stable and there is a good API to control the hardware, it's useful to support it.
